Our sweet Wilson

Wilson is a great baby... now that we have figured out his stomach issues.  When he was 2 weeks old, we put him on medicine for acid reflux.  He wasn't necessarily fussy, but he was spitting up a little.  The biggest thing was that sometimes when he would burp he would dry heave and gag on nothing that we could see. But you could see he was in pain and trying to get something up.  The dr. said that it is called silent reflux and that it is usually more harmful for babies because a lot of parents ignore it and then the acid just keeps burning away. After a few weeks he started to get really fussy though, so we changed his formula to sensitive.  That seemed to help, but we could still tell he was really uncomfortable and gassy.  He thought he was still hungry, but he was already eating 6 oz every 3 hours. I tried gripe water and it did nothing for him, so my cousin had told me about this stuff called colic calm.  She warned me it was black but that it worked wonders.  It is all natural but there is vegetable charcoal in it that causes the black color.  We gave it to him and he took it with no problem.  By the next day we had a whole different baby!  He was happy and we could tell that he wasn't in pain anymore :) So now that he has sensitive formula, acid reflux medicine and colic calm, he is doing great!  Our other 2 did not have stomach issues, so this has been a trial and error thing for us.  Luckily we found what worked for him and he is chunkin' right up now!
He was getting up every 3 hours until he was 7 weeks old.  Then he started going longer stretches.  This was great, because I went back to work when he was 6 1/2 weeks old.  I would feed him at 11 before bed, then he would would get up at 4 and then again at 7.  By 9 weeks though, he was going all night!!! He would eat at 10 and then get up at 6:30.  For the last few weeks, he has been eating at 8:30 and sleeping until 6:45.  He is still eating 6 oz every 3 hours and he keeps it down. If you don't give him that much, he freaks out!
At his 2 week appt he weighed 8 1/2 lbs and he was 21 inches long.  I was shocked that he had grown an inch and a half in 2 weeks.  Then at his 2 month appt he weighed 11 1/2 lbs and he was 22 1/2 inches long.  Again another inch and a half! He was in 3-6 month clothes when he was a month and a half, because he was so long :) He might be our tall one.  Seth is short and stocky!
Wilson loves Ruby and Seth.  Ruby got him to smile first.  She loves to play and read to him.  Seth can get him to smile now too.  Wilson is a momma's boy already,  which I LOVE :) We are so grateful that he is a part of our family!
