Seth William Wood

He is here! Seth William Wood arrived yesterday at 11:07 am. He weighed 7 lbs 2 oz and was 18 1/2 inches long. Seth is doing great. He is very laid back but he was very impatient to get here. My labor was only 2 hours and 53 minutes long :) They started the pitocin at 8:15 and then broke my water about 9:20. At this point I was almost a 4 and still 80% effaced.
Well, then my dr. had to go to Jordan Valley to do a surgery and I was waiting for the anesthesiologist to come and give me the epidural. I would normally want the epidural before they break my water, but I didn't want to have to wait for Dr. Merrill to get back. My labors never start moving until my water breaks. At 10:00 I finally got my epidural! While I was waiting for it, I got about 6 contractions that were pretty uncomfortable. Will kept telling me to be tough and not be a pansy cause they were probably not that bad. Little did he know, that I was moving really fast at this point :)
My nurse came in about 10:40 to put in the catheter and to check my progress. She was thinking I would probably be dialated to about a 6. Well, as she was checking me, she got this shocked look on her face and she said "I need to call your Dr." I was ready to go!!!! I was completely dialated and effaced. So, while we were waiting for Dr. Merrill to drive back (he was about 10 minutes away), they started breaking down the bed and brought in the nurse for the baby. Dr. Merrill got there about 10:55 and he started to get dressed and ready to go.
As soon as Dr. Merrill was ready they started to check me again and Seth's head was already there. They could tell me that his hair looked dirty blond. Every time I would have a contraction, he would move down about 2-3 inches. Dr. Merrill told me not to laugh, cough or sneeze or else this baby would come out! Well, Dr. Merrill is funny, so he would get me laughing and then Seth would come down even further. I only had to give 1 little push and he was here!!!! At 11:07 am Seth came into this world :)
He is so dang cute and we are so glad that he is here. Ruby does NOT like him and she won't even go close to him. I asked her for a kiss goodbye yesterday, and she said "baby move!" Once I let Will take him, then she would hug and kiss me. We're hoping she eventually likes him!

Only 3 more days!!!

I am having this baby in 3 days!!! Yahoo! I haven't updated for a little bit, so here we go. When I went for my 37 week check up, I was dialated to a 3 and 80 % effaced. This is where I got stuck with Ruby for 3 weeks :( So when I went for my 38 week appointment on Wednesday, the dr was sure that I would have dialated past a 3. Well, I haven't changed from a 3 or effaced any more. I have gained 33 lbs all together during this pregnancy. I am going to be induced on Thursday the 24th, so I don't have any more dr. appointments. I am so excited to meet this little guy! I plan on working through Wednesday and then I will have 7 weeks off. I don't have to go back to work until April 18th :) It is going to be so fun (and interesting) to be home with our 2 kids for that long. Hopefully we will all adjust well to this new part of our life!!!

36 Weeks, 4 more to go!

Here is just a quick update with some baby bump pictures :) I was supposed to go to the Dr. today, but my appointment got canceled so I now go on Thursday. At my last appointment, I had gained 27 pounds altogether. I am being induced in 3 1/2 weeks but I'm due in 4. I will do another update soon, when I go to the dr. Hopefully I will be dialating and he will want to come sooner rather than later!

Ruby Meets Santa

Ruby loves to talk about Santa but she really doesn't like him in person. She will say his name at least 100 times a day and show me all of the Santa stuff we have. We had Will's family party on the 11th and Ruby wasn't feeling very good anyways. Well Santa came in and she started to freak out and she ran as far away as she could. When her name was called up, I took her up there and just set her on his lap and then she started to scream! I love the look on her face in the first picture. I know, I'm such a mean mom :)

The first time with Santa- 18 months

Then we had my family Christmas party on the 18th. Every time we would ask Ruby if she was going to see Santa and sit on his lap, she would shake her head "no" really fast. When she was first put up there, she cried. But then Santa brought out her m & m candy cane. She took it, but she would not look at him even after she got her candy!

This is when he first came in

I kind of like you Santa!

During Christmas time, my parents do the 12 days of Christmas for all of the grandkids. The presents come from the secret elf who is watching to see if the kids are being good. Each night, on the 12 days before Christmas, we put 1 present on the porch and then we ring the doorbell. Ruby gets to come and get her present and open it. She got a cute little teddy bear on the first night and she has loved all of the presents so far. Thanks Grandpa and Grandma Bawden, oh and the elf:)!

We have have had a few rough weeks at our house with Ruby being sick. At the beginning of December, she got croup. It was awful and she was just miserable. They gave her a steroid shot and then another dose for me to do at home. This seemed to help a ton. Thankfully, she was with my mom on the day that it hit, so my mom took her to the dr. for me. Moms are the best!!! While she had croup she was also getting in her 4 molars. So she was running a fever and had a snotty nose. Thank goodness for motrin, a humidifier, vicks baby rub, and the vicks plug ins! I am glad to say that the last of her molars just came in yesterday and her cough is on its way out.

I also took her to the Dr. on the 14th for her 18 month check up. She weighed 23 lbs and she is in the 30% for that. She is also in the 50% for her head and height. She was still not feeling very good that day, so she just screamed at the Dr. the whole time. Sorry, Dr. Johnson!

On Friday, the 17th, me and Will celebrated our 6 year anniversary. I can't believe that it has been that long already! We went to Texas Roadhouse and then rented the other guys. I love you Will and thanks for an amazing 6 years!!! It was also my last day of school before Christmas break. Now we have 2 1/2 weeks off. Yay!!!!

Today I am 30 weeks. I went to the Dr. and everything looks great. I have now gained 19 lbs altogether. My dr. said that he will induce me on the 24th of February, so we are having a baby in 9 1/2 weeks. I can't wait to meet this little guy!

28 weeks!

I am 28 weeks today. Wow this pregnancy had flown by so far! I went to the Dr. last week and everything looks great. I am measuring a little big but my Dr. didn't seem to think much about it. I have also gained 16 lbs. now. I am feeling great, but pregnant!!! I can't believe that this little guy will be here in 12 weeks!

We also decorated for Christmas and Ruby loved all of the decorations. She would just go around and ooh and aah. We also let her put the star on the tree and she was so proud of herself! This Christmas will be so fun for her!!!
So big!

Here are just some random pictures of Ruby from the last few weeks!

Halloween 2010

This Halloween was so much fun because Ruby actually understood what to do and she loved trick or treating. She was a skunk this year and she looked so cute!!! It started with my parents annual grandparent party. They have all of us over and the kids are in their costumes. The kids do a parade for the parents and then we all get to eat pizza! After pizza, the parents are kicked out and the kids get to decorate cookies and bob for apples. Then they have a sleep over and watch movies. You have to be 2 to sleep over, so Ruby will get to next year. We just left her there for all of the games and then came to get her when the movie started.

Then we went up to Will's parents for their ward trunk or treating the next day. It started to rain just as we got there, but Ruby did not care! She realized that if she walked up to the cars and just smiled, that she got to choose a treat to put in her pumpkin basket. She did really good and she kept trying to run ahead of us to the next car. By the end, her basket was so heavy that she was just dragging it behind her. If you tried to take it from her, you had to pick her up too cause she was not letting go of it! She also had a total sugar high that night. She just kept running back and forth and screaming at the top of her lungs. Luckily she crashed about an hour later but she was going crazy for a while.

I was able to go to the So You Think You Can Dance concert with my sisters, my mom, Brooklyn and Brianna, and Melanee and Riley. It was so good! We went to Chilis first and then headed over to the concert. I loved seeing all of my favorite dances again. My dad watched Ruby for me, so that I could go. Thanks Dad!!!
Terah and her cute girls

I also went to the dr. last week for our little baby boy. I am 25 weeks now and he is moving like crazy. He loves his dad already and moves tons when he comes home (he is working in Moab right now). I have now gained 11 lbs and the baby is looking great! My dr. also said that he will induce me a week early so that my spring break will be an extra week off. So we're planning on a February baby instead of March! We are still trying to come up with a name that we can agree on. I don't think it will ever happen, but we'll see. We are in the process of cleaning out his room, because it became our storage room when we had Ruby. We will be doing his room in a mint green color and brown with monkeys. When we get it done, I'll post some pictures. Overall, life is great and Ruby is getting so big. She just had 2 teeth come in and she is in the process of getting her 1 year old molars in. I hope they come in soon, cause she needs to start to sleeping better soon so that I can too!
